La Poule au Pot, or Chicken in a Pot, is one of the first dinners I learned to make in France when Le Chef and I moved in together.

As it turns out, Poule au Pot is the easiest way ever to cook a whole Chicken.

Whole Chicken Cloves of Garlic White Onion Celery Carrots Star Anise Seed

Cook Time: 1h35 Min

Ingredients

STEP 1

Drizzle olive oil in a soup pot or dutch oven over medium heat.

STEP 2

Add the garlic, onions, rosemary, thyme, carrot and celery.

STEP 3

Sautée until the onions begin to soften (about 5 minutes) being careful not to let the ingredients burn. Lower the heat if the pot gets too hot.

STEP 4

Deglaze your pot with 4 cups of water.
